About Us

Italian Language Teachers Association (ILTA) is a professional association that provides information and services to teachers of Italian in NSW.

Our Vision

What We Do

Italian Language Teachers Association aims to identify and serve the needs of teachers of Italian. We promote the diffusion of Italian language and culture in schools and the wider community. We provide our members with opportunities for professional development.

We actively represent teachers of Italian in all relevant forums. We raise awareness of issues and information pertinent to the Italian language and culture.

We also keep members informed of curriculum requirements and changes. ILTA raises awareness of the variety and current trends of language teaching methodology.

We liaise with professional and social organisations in the area of Education and the Italian community. We develop links between teachers of Italian K-12. We foster collegiality in all sectors of Education in NSW.

How We Achieve

"It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows."

ILTA organises forums, inservices, conferences and workshops for teachers of Italian. We also organise language and cultural activities for students of Italian.

We develop teaching materials that are shared with our members. We disseminate information on Italian language and culture while also sharing ideas and resources. We inform our members of Board of Studies documents, requirements and changes.

If you are not yet a member and wish to join, please head over to our membership information page to sign up. This will give you access to member only areas of this website.

Similarly, if you have material, ideas or contacts that complement the aims of ILTA, we would appreciate hearing from you. It is by working together that we can achieve our aims!
